New album from the White Stripes in the pipeline

The White Stripes are ready to head back into the studio together.

Guitarist and singer Jack White has been busy on a number of other projects - including his Third Man record label and recording albums with the his other bands The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs - since the band, completed by Meg white, went on semi-hiatus in 2007, but said the duo are ready to record again.

Music producer Phil Spector will soon be releasing his first recording project in three decades. It's the debut CD for his wife Rachelle Spector, which he produced and arranged. Titled Out of My Chelle, the disc will be available for digital download on June 8 at Amazon, iTunes and other digital retailers and in stores on July 20.

Cold play new music

Coldplay made the leap from indie favourites to worldwide success a few albums ago, which has only increased the buzz around their latest release: Viva La Vida. The title single has way more crunch and less falsetto than we’ve come to expect from the boys, but the album is full of their typically intricate, graceful rock songs laden with piano and Chris Martin’s soulful vocals. Viva La Vida comes with a bonus track.
